I was born in North Carolina, and graduated in 2017 from Appalachian State University with a B. S. in Applied Physics and various academic accolades. From there, I crossed a decent fraction of the world to obtain my Ph.D. in Astronomy from the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. During my time in Hawai’i, I was on the practice squad for the UH women’s basketball team, met and married my wife, welcomed my first kid, and wrote a bunch of papers – a busy 5 years indeed! After my Ph.D., it was another haul back across the US to start my postdoc position at Ohio State’s Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP).

When not chasing exotic supernovae or building data reduction tools, I enjoy basketball, hiking, public outreach, and tiring out my young kids – some pictures below!
